2. Is it safe to ship my memories?

Yes. We have received and shipped thousands of tapes, photos and reels without ever losing a single one in transit. After we digitize your media, we keep it on file for 30 days and you also have the option to store it on our servers for as long as you like.

3. Why should I digitize my media?

First and foremost, your tapes, reels and photos will not last forever. The quality of Videotapes degrades significantly in as little as 5 years if not used. As quality degrades, it becomes too late to restore to original quality. Photos and slides will fade with time. Reels are subject to “vinegar syndrome”. When they begin to smell like vinegar, aging has already occurred. Even if they do not smell like vinegar, aging has already taken place. It is vital to get these converted as soon as possible before corrosion begins to eat into the emulsion on the film.

4. What is the life expectancy of a DVD?

The industry standard life expectancy of a DVD is over 100 years, regardless of how many times played.

5. How do I know how many feet are on my old film reels?

3″ reel (50 feet) 2-3 minutes
4″ reel (100 feet) 5-6 minutes
5″ reel (200 feet) 12-14 minutes
6″ reel (300 feet) 19-22 minutes
7″ reel (400 feet) 26-29 minutes

6. How many feet of film will fit onto a DVD?

Approximately 1600 feet will fit onto a DVD.

7. How should I organize my photos for a slideshow?

We recommend using stickies notes placed on the back of photos with corresponding number. Simply place them in the order you wish them to appear in slideshow.

4. How many hours of tape can a DVD hold?

We are able to fit approximately up to 2 hours onto a DVD.

5. What DVD format do you use?

All DVDs are high-grade quality, DVD-R format. These DVDs will play in 99% of existing DVD players and on your computer CD-ROM.

6. What if I need an extra copy after I’ve received my DVDs?

All files are stored on our servers for 30 days at no charge. Simply contact us and we will ship you a copy for $9.99. We also offer yearly storage on our servers for $9.99 per/month. You can rest assured knowing that your memories will never be lost.

8. What is the typical turnaround time frame for my project?

The typical time frame is 2 weeks or less.

9. Do you offer a rush-order service?

Yes. Guaranteed in a week or less. 30% is added on to final price.

10. Do you offer a local pick-up and delivery service?

Yes. We will pick-up and drop off your media at $0.50 per mile from our offices.

11. What is the Affiliate Rewards program?

12. Can you send me the actual files so I can edit the video ?

Yes. We will put your video files into a .avi editable file.

13. When I play the DVD, does the video automatically start playing?

No. We put an interactive menu on all DVDs. You choose when you would like the DVD to start. We can also put chapter markings on the menu at .99 per chapter.

14. Do you charge a set-up fee for film transfers?

No. We do not charge a set-up fee.

15. Is the DVD included in the price?

Absolutely. The DVD is included in the conversion price. If you would like additional copies, we charge $9.99 per copy.
